Anyone hear the saying the customer is always right? Or you know how businesses are supposed to keep their customers happy? Well I used to think EA followed this law but I guess i was wrong and now will embark on a journey of hate and ranting about their “amazing” customer service.

Recently the game APB tanked and many gamers, including me, were disappointed. After that set in we became sad because we lost 60 dollars that we just dropped and some eve, not including me, lost more money by actually buying game time for this. But then the gods descended upon me and EA, in all their generosity offered a refund, Sort of. What they offered was for digital purchasers to get EA store money and pretty much buy a game from EA.

Oh yes the EA company was acting honorably in their defeat.

So I go to claim this refund and I what do I get instead??? I get a person copy pastaing answers.

Here is the chat log along with my thoughts during the conversation:

Carol (Nice helper): Hi, my name is Carol. How may I help you?
Happy Customer: I was wondering how do i get my refund for APB from Valve(Steam)?
Happy Customer: Well the refund is from you guys but how do i acquire it?
Carol(still okay): I do apologize for the inconvenience that caused to you.
Carol(really seems like Copy Paste): EA has no relationship with the digital channel Steam. Our distribution of APB was limited to specific digital partners. You purchased your game from a retailer that has no relationship with EA for APB. EA has no obligation to provide compensation of any kind. However, if you feel you are entitled to a refund or other entitlement based on the terms and circumstances of your specific purchase, we suggest that you contact Steam retailer and/or your credit card company to determine if a refund, chargeback and/or other relief is available
Annoyed Customer: Yea see but EA is offering refunds so??????????
Annoyed Customer Validating their Return Policy: “But now it appears that EA, publisher and distributer of the boxed copies of the game, has decided to extend a peace offering to APB users. According to SavyGamer, EA is now willing to refund purchasers of the Steam version by granting them one free title from the EA Store. While it may not be the refund fans were hoping for, it does give them a free copy of one of Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age: Origins, Spore, The Saboteur, Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, among many others.”
Annoyed Customer(Letting it sit in that i know your return policy): Your company is allowing for refunds so?
(Douche): But the policy has been changed now and we are not able to assist in this matter.
Angry foaming at the mouth Customer: What you mean the policy has changed when did this happen? What the hell so I was screwed by you guys?
Continued: That article and other articles were posted 12 days ago? Your policy changed in 12 days?

Douche who works for EA: I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. But we are not able to do anything in this matter. Once please contact to Steam for further assistance. (BTW guys STEAM does not offer refunds because they are just a distributor. I believe EA knows this but likes to give customers the run around)
Endless Rage Customer: Yea well its okay ill just call tomorrow and get to the bottom of this bull shit you guys call customer serivce

And that is my story so ill have to call and see what is happening but so far I am not pleased. 😀 but maybe their is hope for EA. I only hope they learn from these experiences.
